I have some that I can bring into SketchUp and export back out as DAE, but they seem to have gaps, and Im not sure how to get the textures on. I’m really confused, please let me know if you have a ideas. Hi, Just wondering if anyone else has tried using models created from KML files in CityEngine or ArcScene. I don’t get why it can’t run the model smoothly? Does it need a better graphics card? How much better does it need? Is Sketchup not built for this? Is there a bottleneck of optimization when files get this large? What in the model could make it slowed down this much? But then if I have a good graphics card why would that matter? If it’s images, or textures, even if it’s 5 time s the size of the file all of that can be stored and ready to run in the 12 GB of RAM in the graphics card. Look online for options to allow the program to utilize all of the graphics card but there is no setting like that.

It definitely using the graphics card and the driver is up-to-date. Can be saved to a file geodatabase, it can also be saved as a single polygon feature class (when saved as a single polyhedral elements, textures will be lost). I have some models (fbx,dae, or 3ds all the same issue) where i placed the main file in the same directory as where all the image files are located but when I import those into IWs, the resulting model displayed is either not rendering anywhere close to as detailed as the model or it's missing key elements (tree limbs for example). I know there’s a Substance Painter exporter and that the seemingly obvious strategy would be to import the model from SketchUp into Substance Painter, import the substance from substance designer into substance painter, apply the texture/substance, and then upload to SketchFab. I’m running a big Sketchup file 170MB when I pivot my view it takes some time to react or when I click on a object it can take a second to register why? It doesn’t look like it’s taking much resources like 3 GB of RAM and little on the graphics card (some spikes here and there). You might also use a style texture to symbolize a surface, portraying the ground as a set of ground covers. The models look fine in ArcScene the issue is only in the exported web scene. You can use these 3D textures to model the grass in a park or the pavement of a parking lot. The models were made in Sketchup 8 and exported to COLLADA, then dropped in ArcScene.

Limitations of ArcScene Texture mapping of vertical surfaces, for example drap-ing an image of a cross section on a vertical wall, is problematic. I have Sketchup Pro on a 12 Core Xeon, with a RTX Quadro A2000s (12GB), 64 GB of RAM, and a SSD. A random sampling of buildings are missing textures.
